As exciting as the concept of computer monitoring is, it’s not the only thing teachers need from classroom monitoring software. The final year includes advanced courses on software engineering and a substantial individual project, frequently in collaboration with employers. BSc students can extend their degree by an additional year and graduate with an MSci. Year 3 covers a broad range of topics and emphasises the skills needed for team-based software development when working with real-world customers.

  • The scholarship supports students who could face financial difficulties taking up their place to study at the university.
  • The School of Computing Science launched the pioneering Centre for Computing Science Education in 2017, in recognition of our commitment to leadership and innovation in educational practice.
  • We recommend that you submit your application to our courses as early as you can in advance of our application deadlines.

After year 3, BSc students spend their summer on a paid placement in industry. Students are required to undertake a major project during the final year of the course. The module offers students an opportunity to develop a realistic and meaningful piece of work during their final year.

In all cases, pupils should be reminded, through visible notices, of their responsibility to behave in line with the school code of practice. Students choosing a period of paid work placement or study abroad as a part of their course should be aware that there may be additional travel and living costs, as well as tuition fees.

Classroom computer monitoring software has a unique feature called analytical report that provides teachers with updates on everybody’s progress. The feedback is systematic, and the report is generated automatically, so there is no risk of error. The concept of being able to monitor the activity of every computer in the class seemed almost too good to be true. Such software translates the concept of classroom computer monitoring into reality and actually allows me to monitor and record students’ activity on each computer. It’s your responsibility to ensure the accuracy of your application before submission. Requests to correct application content, change degree programme or change college of entry, will not be accepted after these deadlines.

The University’s School of Modern Languages and Cultures offers a range of Pre-sessional coursesto bring you up to entry level. The course is accredited by BALEAP, the UK professional association for academic English teaching. You will take courses on key areas of the subject, including programming, computer systems, databases and human-computer interaction.

This module allows a chosen subject area to be researched in depth and a solution developed as a consequence. Students will have the opportunity to integrate and apply the learning achieved from other modules in the course. The module runs during both semesters and allows students to develop a comprehensive approach to all aspects of working on a large project. The project encourages innovation and creative thinking in the development of the solution. It also develops the entrepreneurial mindset, which can influence the challenges undertaken and final decisions made.
